What I see is only what I know, or think I know. Through sight, smell, hearing, taste, and touch, I expand upon what I learn and understand. I willingly immerse myself in different topics, situations, perspectives, and media, seeking pathways I have yet to cross. Appropriating bits and pieces of what once was, or what is, to create something utterly new. It goes without saying that there are continuous setbacks during such a process, but there are real accomplishments as well. Every step or misstep is a lesson to be filed away in my personal archive. The more I roam and experiment, the more I figure out about the world, and the less I know of it, too. Somehow it all comes back around. We are all connected to one another without even realizing it. To relieve oneself of this collective myopathy, we must gather and give. We must be fearless in our assessment of ourselves and bring out what is inside of us. We cannot do this alone. The end is never certain, but our experiences shape the narrative and that’s the part that really counts. I work for humanity.
