Feeling and dream have no measure, no language, and everyone’s dream is singular. Everything that is made, however, obeys the laws of nature. One is always greater than one’s work because one can never fully manifest one’s aspirations, though they can be expressed creatively, through measurable means of composition, e.g. design, architecture, literature, and music. The first line on paper is a measure of what cannot be fully expressed. The first line on paper is less than. Accepting loss of control over physical representation does not co-opt the original intent but rather contributes to the limitations and perspectives that inspire creativity and promote selflessness. Taking into consideration how things are measured by others helps me to expand my personal thoughts and to better represent my intentions. In the end, work that is produced in order to be consumed must consider the appetite and expectation of the consumer.
