My thesis project is both a learning tool and a toy which helps give elementary school children a basic understanding of musical ideas. With recent budget cuts for the arts, more young students than ever have little to no access to music education. Research has shown that early exposure to music and musical instruments have tremendous positive impact on the development of a child.

Cybord provides this exposure, as well as a series of basic music lessons on note names, chords, intervals, and rhythm. The Cybord app guides the user through lessons, using simple visual language and terminology adapted for a young child.With Cybord, a child can learn music, experiment, and have fun all at once.
