It Starts With a Line
The whole process of creation can begin with a small action of pressing a pen to a piece of paper and dragging it a short distance. Once a line has started, there are endless possibilities for how it can transform. The transformation can create geometric shapes that are purposefully crafted to display balance, intrigue, or tension. On the other hand, a line can mutate into organic and interesting abstract forms. I intend to mix traditional geometric design compositions with my own creative forms taken from hand drawn sketches that I have collected. When both are overlaid together, new interesting forms and compositions come to life that accentuate both traditional design elements and artistic expression. Art has always played a large role in my life as well as graphic design. The original sketches came from personal drawings that were created in my freetime throughout my day. Each geometric composition was created during my first year studying graphic design and I have revisited this initial project to mix with my current design knowledge.
