We.BD
My thesis project is focused on using the digital technology in our phones to create a better quality of life for patients suffering from Irritable Bowel Disease, Crohn's disease, and Ulcerative Colitis.
Inflammatory bowel disease is an umbrella term used to describe disorders that involve chronic inflammation of the digestive tract. Research indicates that through monitoring and group therapy, an individual can improve their quality of life by tracking their diet, exercise, and bowel patterns.
By identifying patterns and changing them, patients can avoid potential triggers that can cause flare-ups. Patients can combine the practice of monitoring with group therapy – connecting with others suffering from IBD – to improve their quality of life further.
We.BD provides a community-driven tracking and social network that allows patients a space to talk about their disease openly with other IBD patients. We.BD is based on user research and user testing. Its essential graphic elements allows a user to track, maintain, and improve their current diet and mental health through the use of symptom management and group therapy ideals.
