Heterotopian Worlds
Heterotopian Worlds
The world is a collection of different worlds, each built on different principles and ideals. There is one universal ideal and its world is called utopia. Heterotopias are worlds within worlds that mirror but upset what is outside. Utopia is where everything is good; it is not real. Heterotopia is where everything is different and there are no intelligible connections. It is the space in which we live.Conflicts happen every day, every moment, inside my mind (the penultimate ‘topia’). As a designer, I navigate between the ideal and the real. In my work, I strive to clarify, simplify, and visualize—in short, to make sense of—the unexpected. I focus on details and execute according to the contours of my imagination.
